Namibia is experiencing acute food insecurity, leading to malnutrition. This is due to prolonged droughts, flooding, poverty and COVID-19 control measures on livelihoods.

Good Food Namibia, therefore, took action and developed and implemented the Women and Youth Sustainable Smart Food Enterprise Development Program. This program is intended to build safety and resilience and increase the sustainability of food security. The aim of this program is to empower Namibians Food Cultivators to establish sustainable vegetable backyard gardens.

Good Food Namibia has supported more than 600 households in urban gardening, mainly women and the unemployed in llKaras, Erongo, Hardap and Khomas Regions.
